AudioStack, an AI audio production startup, has raised $3.1 million in funding.
The London-based startup was cofounded by musician and AI Ph.D. Timo Kunz in 2019. The company works with major businesses that produce thousands of pieces of content a month to generate audio, mix, level, and master voice and music for advertising purposes. The company offers an end-to-end production process and works with businesses like McDonald’s and Porsche to produce content.
“We have been waiting for AI to make audio that was pleasant to listen to and initially we were too early, but then last year was like someone flipped the switch,” Kunz told Business Insider.
“With ChatGPT, the technology took a big step and people knew what AI meant. It supercharged my creativity, which is very inspiring for me as a musician.”
The startup works with large advertising agencies to ingest audio content and speech, with the intention of reducing the speed and cost of producing adverts.
AudioStack has raised $3.1 million to scale its operations in a funding round led by Quadri Ventures.
“The landscape has fundamentally changed previously it was all about Web3, and it was hard to raise as an AI company despite our good traction,” Kunz added. “Now customer attention and interest in the space is high, so investor interest followed, and it was quite easy for us to raise.”
Funding will go toward building the company’s commercial team as AudioStack pushes into key markets, including the US, UK, and DACH.
“When you think about how many players there are. in the market, we want to be the infrastructure that ties it all together,” Kunz said. “AI is the Wild West and we’re excited to be in the middle of it.”
